It is a crescent shaped basin, shadowed by the majestic Himalayan Mountains on all sides. Also known as moon lake, Chandertaal Lake is located in Spiti district at an altitude of 14100 feet above sea level. From earlier times, the lake has been regarded as the resting point for traders and travelers coming from Tibet and Ladakh. Best time to visit the lake is in summer months of June, July, August and September as the lake remains frozen during the rest of the year. Being a mesmerizing place, one would get lost in the awe-strucking scenic pleasures around the lake. 

How to Reach

By Road:
Take down the roads either the side of Kullu- Manali or Shimla to reach Lahaul and Spiti by a private taxi will take your favored locations.

By Rail:
The nearest railway station is Chandigarh from where you can reach Lahaul & Spiti easily through cabs.

By Airport:
Bhunter in Kullu is the nearest airport which offers well-connected by flights from Delhi, Chandigarh, etc.
